Moon Rocks One Giant Hit for Mankind

Moon Rocks: One Giant Hit for Mankind

Are you looking to spice up your smoking routine? Maybe cannabis flowers don’t seem as potent as they used to when you first started smoking. That happens, you start to build a tolerance. Well, there are a few options. One of those is trying cannabis concentrates, and the other is an out-of-this-world combo called moon rocks.

These potent wax and kief covered nuggets of flower can pack a large punch and take even the most seasoned cannabis consumers right to the moon.

What are Moon Rocks?

Moon rocks aren’t as alien as the name sounds. A moon rock consists of 3 major components.

  1. The first major piece to the moon rock puzzle is some top shelf flower.
  2. Next, cannabis concentrate is drizzled over the nugs of weed.
  3. The third and final component is the kief that is sprinkled over the outside of the buds completely covering their surface in THC kief crystals.

This is not your normal cannabis flower, you can’t grow weed like this. However with top quality ingredients these nugs pack a punch. Buckle your seat belts and get ready for lift off!

How to Smoke Moon Rocks

Smoking moon rocks is almost the same as smoking regular cannabis flowers, with a few slight differences. Here are a few tips and best practices to give you the best experience.

Joint / Blunt

Break up the moon rocks like you would any other type of cannabis flower by hand.

Do not use a grinder, the moon rocks are too sticky for it.

You could use scissors if you want, but a good set of fingers will do the trick just fine. Other than that the rest is pretty much the same.

One minor detail, if you want to add some regular cannabis flowers to the joint that can help even out the burn. Since moon rocks are covered in wax it can burn slower and sometimes cause runs in your joint or blunt.

This could be the best way to smoke moon rocks. There isn’t a wrap or paper there to burn unevenly, just a bowl to torch.

You can use a regular light or a cigar torch to light the bowl. A good tip when smoking moon rocks from a bong would be to make sure you break the pieces up small enough. This will allow for an easier burn with the waxed soak cannabis flowers.

Another great way to consume moon rocks would be with a vaporizer. This would allow you to make sure you’re getting the most out of your nugs. They are more expensive then typical weed so it’s important to use them wisely.

Just make sure your vaporizer is both flower and concentrate capable so it will burn effectively.

Common Moon Rocks Price

One important thing to note about moon rocks is the price. They are much more expensive than your typical gram of cannabis flowers.

However, these aren’t your normal buds. Since they are coated in wax and rolled in kief you can find moon rocks from anywhere between $20 a gram to $60 a gram.

Don’t let the price discourage you, treat yourself at least once.

How to Make Moon Rocks Yourself

Making moon rocks for yourself is really quite simple. The only difficult part is making sure you have enough of each ingredient.

Let’s get into it. You’ll need a few tools at your disposal.

  1. Weed: Buy your favorite strain for maximum enjoyment, or see if you can find the same strain weed, wax, and kief to complete the trifecta.
  2. Cannabis concentrates: You will want some high-quality wax to melt over your weed.
  3. Kief: You can get the kief either from your kief catcher in your grinder or bought from a dispensary. Just make sure you have enough to completely cover the amount of flowers you want to turn into moon rocks.

Step 1

Place the bud over some wax paper or parchment paper and stick a toothpick through each bud.

This is so it will be easier to grab and cover with wax and kief. Think of the toothpicks as handles.

Step 2

Melt some of the concentrated cannabis and pour it all over the bud.

Some wax, like sauce, may already be viscous enough to just pour over with out melting the wax first.

If you need to melt the wax use a lighter a distance away from the wax, far enough to not burn it but close enough to melt it.

Step 3

On a separate piece of wax paper lay out a bed of kief, grab the ends of the toothpicks and roll the concentrate covered bud through the bed of kief.

Once it’s properly dusted, leave the bud out for a little while for it to dry.

Once its dried overnight, or for a few hours at least, enjoy your homemade moon rocks.
